How it Works.

Using Advanced Heuristics AutoSleep works out how long you've slept.

If you do wear your Watch to bed:

1. Go to Sleep. 
2. Wake up. 

Even if you don't wear your Watch to bed, AutoSleep can track your time in bed. It's extremely simple. 

If you don't wear your Watch to bed:

1. Put your Watch on charge before you go to sleep. 
2. Sleep. 
3. Put your Watch back on*. 

* or touch your iPhone when you wake up then put your Watch on within 30 minutes.

If you ever wake up during the night or earlier than usual and want to see how much sleep you've had, well now you can see a live update of your sleep. Two simple rings track how long you've been in bed and how much of that time has been actual sleep. These are plotted as progress onto a ring that represents your preferred number of sleep hours per night.

Now you can see how your own batteries are charged. A Today Widget lets you see your last night's sleep and an average for the trailing seven days.

If you wear your Apple Watch to bed*, AutoSleep will also analyse your sleep quality. By using time asleep, restlessness, time awake and heart rate it can score the quality of your sleep. 

*Note. If you do not wear your Watch to bed, AutoSleep simply captures the amount of time sleeping.
